Albert Einstein - Chief Engineer of the Universe
I am enthusiastic about engaging with the public. I enjoy writing popular science articles, I have presented my work several times on German public television and in a forthcoming Einstein documentary, and I took part in two major science exhibitions in Germany.
From 2003 on, I coordinated the scientific team at the Max Planck Institute for the History of Science of the 2005 exhibition Albert Einstein: Chief Engineer of the Universe. The exhibition was a centerpiece of the Einstein Year 2005, a common initiative of the German Federal Government, science, industry, and culture to celebrate the centenary of Einstein's revolutionary 1905 papers. This exhibition provided a unique opportunity to communicate the history of science to a large audience. I designed parts of the exhibition, including those that deal with Einstein as a public figure and with the opposition to Einstein’s theory of relativity.
In 2007 and 2008, I was member of the scientific team that developed the 2008 exhibition on Max Planck and quantum theory.
